Webinar: Design of Control Loops for a Three-Phase Induction Motor

Challenge:
Motor control plays a key role across a wide range of applications — including automotive, industrial, aerospace, and renewable energy sectors. Typically, this approach uses a double-loop structure in the dq reference frame: the inner loop regulates d- and q-axis currents to control flux and torque, while the outer loop controls speed.

Solution:
With SmartCtrl, you can quickly define the plant of any power converter using its equation editor, design double-loop control structures, and easily tune compensators through its solutions map for accurate and efficient control design.

Results:
Export your designed control to third-party simulators (PSIM, Simba, more) to validate transient response and ensure stable and reliable performance.

Overview: Smart Rapid Control Prototyping system

PSC Smart Rapid Control Prototyping system can be used as a laboratory aid to improve, design and debug controlling algorithms and safety systems in a power system. However, it can also be used as a front-end industrial controlling system.

In this webinar see how SmartRCP can be used in an on-field power electronics hub that links solar generation, internal storage, EV chargers, and grid feeding. All controlled by SmartRCP.

Webinar Recording: SmartCtrl 2026

The design of control loops on digital platforms represents a great challenge for control engineers, since additional parameters such as sampling period, ADC gain, and transport delay must be considered.

In the Two-Level Three-Phase PFC, SmartCtrl allows the design and implementation of digital control loops, considering different sampling techniques and different digital filters. SmartCtrl internallyconsiders transport delay in the plant. The design will be validated with the transient response using the PSIM simulator

Webinar Recording: New SmartCtrl 2025

Three-phase rectifiers play a crucial role in various applications like electric vehicle chargers, grid energy storage systems, and uninterruptible power supplies.

SmartCtrl 2025 now includes the Vienna rectifier among its predefined topologies. Design the DC voltage loop and current loops easily and efficiently. Additionally, SmartCtrl 2025 allows you to tune the PI compensator of the DC-Link Voltage balancing. The Vienna rectifier can be controlled in the dq or alpha-beta reference frame.
